“Transparent” Mirror Cabin Draws Art and Architecture Lovers from All Around (Slideshow)

Last month, reknowned artist Phillip K. Smith III unveiled his latest project, “Lucid Stead”: a long-forgotten timber shack transformed into a visual masterpiece using reflecting panels, lights and a little custom electronic equipment. The cabin is located in Joshua Tree, California.

Smith says of the piece,

Lucid Stead is about tapping into the quiet and the pace of change of the desert. When you slow down and align yourself with the desert, the project begins to unfold before you.  It reveals that it is about light and shadow, reflected light, projected light, and change.”
